     Two excellent books have recently been published specifically about the 27th Bombardment Group (L) and its personnel in the early stages of World War II:

     "Operation PLUM - The Ill-Fated 27th Bombardment Group and the Fight for the Western Pacific",  by Adrian R. Martin and Larry W.
