Much of my family history research was done by correspondence with individuals and institutions throughout the United States and Canada as well as Europe. On-site research was also done, however, in libraries, institutions and cemeteries in California (including the Long Beach, San Francisco, and Contra Costa Public Libraries; the Sutro Library in San Francisco, and the California State Library in Sacramento), in Salt Lake City (the Family History Library of the Church of Latter Day Saints); in London (the Reading Room of the British Library, part of the British Museum); and in cemeteries in California, North Dakota and Minnesota.
